I know this is Birdman's track but...

Money to Blow - Birdman feat. Lil' Wayne and Drake

you already know it wouldn't be a hit without Drake and Lil' Wayne on the track. I don't blame Baby (Birdman) for having them featured on almost every one of his tracks on his new album- shit, he's doing the smart thing! I would have them on every one of my tracks too! This is definitely my theme song for now. Drake's SWAG IS INSANE in this music video- are you serious? He's NICE. I've been following Drake for a while and to see his career grow into this is absolutely crazy (in a good way). And to think he's just getting started! His album hasn't dropped yet- I CAN'T WAIT.

like Weezy said at the end of this song, "We gon' be alright if we Drake on every hook..." and he got that right.

Shopping & Good Eats

Accessories?

Pookie & Sebastian- CAN'T go wrong with this store. They usually have BOGO sales on earrings and their necklaces = Amazing. It's chic and most of their accessories can go with day wear or night wear. Necklaces range from $30-$80 but worth the splurge. Earrings range from $20-$40. Sale items are going to cheaper of course. LOVE IT.

Sweaters/Cardigans/Everyday Affordable Winter-Wear?

Mystique in SoHo. They have one Midtown a block from the Empire State Building also. They also have leggings and cheap tank tops too. I like this store because they have a whole lot of VARIETY. I LOVE VARIETY. Their boots are also uber cheap- ranging from $19.99-$35.00 and they're still stylish. Then, there's always H&M for money saving winter wear.

Jeans?

Urban Outfitters always has some kind of demin sales going on. If they don't their basic stretch jeans range from $30-$60. They're comfortable, stylish, you can dress them up or down and they have light to dark denim. I HATE JEAN SHOPPING and Urban is the only place I'll go for affordable jeans. As far as designer jeans go Hudsons and 7 for all man kind are my BFFS.

-----

I am a Pad Thai fanatic and after trying a few places and Sa-Woy on the Upper East Side is my favorite. A little pricey but worth it. Free crispy noodles as an appetizer and they give more meat over noodles. I like. Spice has good and cheap calamari.

Illy has amazing coffee.

Fat Sal's so far is my favorite spot for pizza. Also, this restaurant called Glass House down in Chelsea.

Mad Chicken in Korea Town has amazing fried chicken and sushi balls- don't knock it til you try it. They also have GRRRRRRRRRRREAT drink specials. KyoChun Fried Chicken is also opening towards the end of this month- can't wait!

Q&N Food Mart is great for a variety- salad bar, soup bar and other random foods.

I still need to do more food exploring and can't think of anywhere that sticks out for now.

-----

Random: I crave kettle corn.
Random too: This is more so a blog for myself. Sort of a reflection on my shopping/restaurant explorations in NYC thus far.

I love love.

Love- the bible mentions love countless times in the bible.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22: 37-40

"Serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:13-15

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. it always protect, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1st Corinthians 13: 4-7

"Nobody should seek his own good but the good of others." 1st Corinthians 10:24

"Do everything in love." - 1st Corinthians 16:14

"God loves a cheerful giver." 2nd Corinthians 9:7

"speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ."

"Love must be sincere. hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." - Romans 12:9-10

"Above all love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins." - 1st Peter 4:

The commandment "Love your neighbor as yourself" is so important that it's mentioned numerous times in the bible. God is most definitely a God of LOVE and selflessness. Love and selflessness are two things I need more in my life everyday. I try not to do new year's resolutions and when I make goals for myself I make them practical. This year, 2010, I'm going to make it a goal to be more loving and selfless. Sounds easy but it's harder than I expected. I am actually going through a situation right now that is putting the test to my emotions. I keep telling myself to soak that anger in love, to be understanding to the situation and most importantly to pray. I want to think this person's intentions weren't to leave me high-and-dry but I can't help to take it personal. They say if you focus on the negative it just gets worse. Praying about it has helped immensely and made me realize EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Every situation that God's put me through has had a POSITIVE and rewarding outcome. Can't enjoy the good without going through the bad, right? God is good.
Love, love, love.

it's 2010 baby

I absolutely LOVE what Ron did with his 300 square foot of space. Super quaint! Now that I have money saved up I'm ready to decorate the living room of my apartment. I was totally inspired by the set up in the picture! Gotta make use with the space you have living in NYC. I heart this city. OH! HAPPY NEW YEAR! This is my first post of the new year. YAY!

Shine Blockas - Big Boi feat. Gucci Mane. This new single is NICE and I don't mean polite! haha. The beat is on point. Big Boi never skips a beat! Now, what I really want is a new Outkast album! Andre3000 + Big Boi = pure genius aka the best rap duo alive. What 2010 really needs is some Outkast and the world will be a better place.

Let's see...

I haven't been keeping up with this AT ALL. The city has been eating up all my opportunities to sit, relax and blog. Life's been nothing but an up hill battle lately. I know it'll all be worth it in the end though. I'm enjoying the struggle, the challenge and the constant on-the-go lifestyle New York City has forced me into. I know God's brought me here for a reason and I'm here to fulfill the desires of my heart. I feel like I should be typing up a novel exposing everything crazy that's been going on in my life but that'd take a couple days. In short, I love my new life here in NYC and I couldn't ask for anything more. God is good, all the time and he's brought nothing but peace in my heart. I'm exactly where I need to be. Thank you God.

Sunday 11/8/2009

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deed, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

He reached down from on high and
Took hold of me;
He drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
From my foes, who were too strong for me.
They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
But the Lord was my support.
He brought me out into a spacious place;
He rescued me because he delighted in me.
Psalm 18: 16-19
